RE: Negative Voting and Steem

in #steem8 years ago

I think that whenever we discuss making the user experience more confusing we are going in the wrong direction. A social platform that needs an instruction manual is going to be a social platform with a majority of users ignoring the instruction manual. A vote means you believe this content deserves a slice of today's pie. A downvote WOULD mean that you believe the content deserves less of today's pie than it is getting. A flag is not a downvote and it means that you think there is something wrong with the post (not that you simply disagree). This is what is intuitive to me and I believe to many others.

I wrote a simple #minnowcodeofconduct a month ago, when I was brand new here. It still makes sense to me. Vote for what you like, comment if you have something to add to the conversation, and post when you have value to share. And that is my 0.02SBD.
