This is something I've never understood either. I found Steem a few months ago and thought, wow what a fantastic idea. After reading about it and trying it I still love it but I don't see how the value of Steem will be worth anything. Anyone can just go on the site and start interacting without needing to buy anything. So I don't understand why anyone would want to buy Steem. Then the price of Steem shot up and I thought, "Maybe I've missed something?" But I still don't get why Steem would go up in value.
