RE: What you should know about Steemit, and why most people won't join!

in #steem7 years ago

This is a great post and is very accurate. I can't tell you how many times I've asked someone if they've signed up yet lol. I do think for the crypto world, steemit is about as easy as it can get, but there is still a learning curve. Many do not have the "time," or in reality, the drive or the patience to learn the product. Once they join, they assume they will immediately make some posts and earn a lot of money. For most, it doesn't work this way. For many, even with a lot of time and effort, they don't earn as much as they think they should. This can be due to some flaws in this ever-changing system. But for the most part, it's because they are missing a piece or pieces of the puzzle.

Many don't have the drive to keep learning, to keep pushing out content, refining content, to network with others, to curate and comment on others content, to really network and gain followers. There is a lot more to steemit than simply posting and earning. I think those who love it, and who love digital currency will stay.

Great read!

Thanks @jiujitsu =). I agree with you that the digital currency lovers will stay. I'm also trying to get friends into crypto, but they simply don't believe in it, so it's hard...but I'm sure in the long run they will have to join eventually. You can't fight it forever =)

You are right... People cannot wrap their brains around being paid for social media interaction and content. But, the biggest challenge is they still do not understand, believe, or support digital currency for various reasons.

yes...and since they go had in hand, I guess we need to convince them of crypto first (sigh)

Another 5 years.... we'll get there :)
