RE: STEEM DOLLAR Peg Debate : Stakeholder Analysis

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

I liked the idea of a steem backed dollar, especially considering the sketchiness of USDT. I thought it could become a global standard in the cryptomarkets much like tether, but it would have a more solid backing than Ifinex sitting in the virgin islands saying "dont worry guys, we got the money" .

The Steem Blockchain is a force to be reckoned with but I definitely agree the authors shouldn't lose out on less rewards from the change. The way things are currently structured requires new content creators to use upvote bots, I know this because am fairly new and just recently committed to building a following. I do like the upvote bots, I feel it helps filter shitty content. Logical people are more inclined to put a bit of their SBD towards promoting their quality posts, so I think it helps re-distribute economic benefits to new content producers - if they are committed to the network and their content enough to reinvest some SBD into bots that bring an ROI.

In conclusion, any changes I think would be optimal would require too substantial of a structural change. How can we go bad to SBD @ $1 When its already mooned over 600%!?

We would have to make a separate currency pegged to the USD but tbh, fuck the USD, why in the crypto space should we give any fucks about a currency that has raped and pillaged every corner of the globe and is backed by the impossible to pay economic slavery of the american people?

Steemit is going through a surge in users so the inflationary measures are useless but I am not expecting steem to go up much more. I think it will chill out. If not, we could make it more inflationary and have the inflation rate go down if market cap slows, but then if we do that were just as bad as the fed tryin to control economies bahah.

Same here. I was using the STEEM DOLLAR in preference to Tether because of the counterparty risk of Tether. Made a tidy sum on the initial pump but I miss having it as a safe store of my crypto value.
