Hey welcome
"Music reviews by the TRACKPAD BEAN from class"
i review music in my own way
as a musician interested in the technology behind the productions
for people who do AND do not produce music !
EPISODE 1:
Tyler, the Creator - Flower Boy
Flower Boy is the fourth studio album by American rapper Tyler, the Creator.
TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE PRODUCTIONS:
Tyler is using a lot of acoustic instruments
PIANO
GUITAR
DRUMS
Hes using the off beat drums a lot , these drums , sound like they are far away and
to me it sounds like they are not the usual typical hip hop drums , im very interested into drums, so what i noticed is the way he uses the drums is very unique because they do sometimes sound OUT OF BEAT ..
hes also using the typical not 100% fitting (love that thats the fact) chords, some classic jazz chords and pop chords
NO QUANTIZATION
BASS:
Tyler mixes the basic trap sub bass with this distorted 808 bass
this creates a very deep bass, which supports the harmony BUT it also makes the bass more noticeable.
-> THE WHOLE ALBUM IS A MIX OF INDIE ROCK , HIP HOP AND TRAP ASPECTS ESPECIALLY IN THE DRUM AND BEAT WAY.
COMBINED WITH JAZZ AND POP CHORDS IT FINALLY SOUNDS LIKE THE CLASSIC TYLER THE CREATOR SOUND
dont always use QUANTIZATION !
thanks everyone !
what do you think i forgot ? -REPLY your ideas !
Nice review!
