Actually, Samsung Pass did work (your first link from Reddit.)
But I had never set up Samsung pass on my phone, so I had to do that, then do a whole bunch of trail and error, and finally had to "move" my saved passwords from Samsung Internet app over to Samsung Pass app, afterwhich I could see them
Neither way accesses Samsungs proprietary web browser - called "Samsung Internet" where the password is saved.
