RE: Negative Voting and Steem

in #steem8 years ago

There's something I'm missing. Since the system allows you to upvote your own post.. and as a curator, I am suppose to be upvoting content that I think is good for the community...

Why shouldn't I upvote my own post? If I took the time to write it with the intentions of other people liking it and upvoting it too.. obviously I thought it was contributing quality otherwise I wouldn't have written it in the first place.

Right now, I am contributing this comment, and I'm going to upvote myself because the system allows me to, and I think this viewpoint is worthy of being seen. In addition, because my comments are rarely upvoted (eventhough I do receive textual praise without a vote), the 3 cents I make, helps to cover my time, effort, and hydro to read, comment, and participate. I see no fault in this.

If there is fault in my way of thinking, please be clear about it, so all of us can now realize it is wrong to upvote yourself and a future code modification will be happening which prohibits a user from voting for their own content if that's the way things should be..

There is a saying "how you can love anybody if you can't love yourself?"
I guess that applies for self upvote too)
