Update on the journey of GAIA – former ImpactN

Our journey continues – taking us to beaches on the Balearic Islands, survival camps in California, a festival in Bonn and to impact breakfasts in London and Zurich. More is coming soon: we’re heading towards New York and San Francisco.

you may ask, especially if you haven’t been in touch with the team of GAIA, former ImpactN, yet. Here is a short introduction and A LOT OF updates.

Our purpose – for planet and people

For heroes and those that want to become a hero, GAIA is the platform to connect, share resources and be active together for a better future of planet and people. We believe that many small actions lead to big positive impact.

The challenges

All around the world, especially small social and environmental projects are missing

the support of a community and visibility
easy and equally accessible sources of funding.

To be impactful is effortful, slow and bureaucratic.

The solution

GAIA is a community funding platform based on direct and personal sharing of resources for small projects globally. Project creation and support is community-curated to find and support truly impactful projects in a fair and simple manner. To do so, we'll adjust Steem curation and distribution mechanisms. Furthermore, Steem-blockchain enables high-speed and low-cost funding , transparency and building of trust.

Funding mechanism

GAIA users subscribe for doing good. FIAT subscription fees are exchanged for Steem, thus creating demand for Steem and enhancing its value. Together with Steem rewards for project posts and user comments we create a funding pool for small projects. This pool is distributed to good social and environmental projects and active users, adopting the well known distribution mechanisms of Steem blockchain.
