Steem is a cryptocurrency with a track record of rises and falls. It is experiencing a fall right now with its value slightly lower or almost equal to Steem Dollar. It will rise back to its normal value which is usually $1.2 to $1.6 in the crypto markets. It may, and probably will, go above that soon.

Steem Dollar, on the other hand, is a currency which is pegged against the US Dollar. It means that its value will mostly be around $1 and won't fluctuate heavily. From a stability point of view, Steem Dollars is a good hold. But from a profit point of view, Steem is more viable.

Is There Profit?

Buying Steem right now means 20-60 % profit in case it rises back to its normal value only. However, if Steem gets market support in form of large buy orders or a massively positive news about it, the value may rise well over $2 quite sharply.

So, if you have some SBD in your account for nothing, go the internal currency market (on Steemit) and buy Steem with it.
