The biggest problem with the dollar / fiat economy isn't so much the government although that is not good. The biggest problem is that the system is built on debt and inflation and in the long run is unsustainable. At this point in the time horizon of the current economy the amount of inflation necessary to sustain the interest is trillions of dollars. That is the primary reason so many national banks have adopted negative interest rates.
