Below is the daily steem chart with a Heikin Ashi overlay on the candlesticks and channel trend lines. Steem broke out and over the middle resistance line on Dec 7th and above the upper line on Dec 19th.
A closer look with a bollinger band and 50 DMA. After a small pullback, it appears that Steem may continue it's bullish trend towards the last major high of ~$5 USD's. See the question mark........? Everyone's Steemit account value will increase nicely if Steem should reach $5.
Volume has been also up over the last week which is a good sign. Steem typically has volume under 10M.
The gap between SBD's (red) and Steem (blue) is narrowing and is at $5.65. A few weeks ago it was over $13.
Google Trends continues to show that people around the world are executing a search for Steemit. It is at an all time high in searches. I know there are a few Witnesses that are promoting Steemit with various ads at other social networking sites. This may have assisted the increase in searches?
Is it a surprise that Venezuela is at the #1 spot in searches for the platform? Maybe the worse your country is economically, the more they seek out ways for small monetary gains on the net?

I'm optimistic for the price appreciation of Steem going into 2018. I'm curious on how the SMT will be rolled out and if social media sites adopt the token? In general, the cryptosphere is still in the early innings so most coins/tokens have a few years to run IMO.
HodL on and hope for the best!
beautiful, u got new fan here
Great analysis. Steem is in it's infancy. Although I do expect Steem to get more difficult to accumulate as 2018 progresses, adoption on the platform will grow and push the value well beyond $5 in 12-18 months.
Thanks, a solid $5 base is attainable in 2018 IMO. Exactly when is anyone's guess.
