RE: Ideas for how to sell my book for STEEM?

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

I am looking forward to the Audible version of the book.

As far as pre-orders go, we have plenty of good devs here on Steem, I'm sure someone will be willing to hack together a pre-order app to keep track of people that paid, and what their email is.

That would be pretty darn cool! Any developers who would be willing to help, please let me know.

And yes, I do hope to create an Audible version. Thanks for the encouragement, @furion!

all of this isn't necessary and I wouldnt recommend going down that route. If it is truly an informational resource and not a disney tale about the beginning of steem, it's more useful and more accessible in ebook format. more specifically kindle or kindle unlimited.

Edit: I believe I misunderstood and thought it was a book about STEEMIT

We don't yet have Direct Messaging built into the platform exactly, but you CAN use the Transfer dialog with Memo in the Wallet, to send someone some STEEM, then include your email address to send a copy of the book to.

I would recommend allowing folks to download it on torrents, rather than hosting it on a central server. You can give them a password for a zip file, for example, and a torrent magnet link.

I would actually suggest you publish the book for Upvotes and Pay What You Can donations in STEEM, and see if you don't do better than publishing to AMZ, etc.
