When I first joined Steemit, it made me wonder how do people make money out of their contents, which is completely different in centralized social media platforms.
I always thought that posting in FB, IG...etc is a privelege and it was never meant to be monetized. It actually sounds pathetic, right?
In Steemit and any other blockchain-based social media apps, the users are generous enough to give real money to the needy regardless of their status; whales & minnows alike.
I remember when I was starting here in Steemit, there are a lot of initiatives to help some users who are having difficulty paying for their hospital bills, who suffer tragic loss, and anyone in despair; the Steemians are more than willing to help in terms of financial support.
It only shows the power of cooperation and the "magic" of a trust-less social network.
If you do this kinds of campaign it FB, IG...etc it's either they will troll your campaign or block you or worst - mark you as scam.
The centralized social network may have a huge user base however, there is no real community spirit in them. They are just participating because they didn't know that there is a much better option.
They are not aware or well-informed about the trust-less decentralized social network like Steemit.
Now that MIRA is up and running, I believe it's now time to on-board new users who has the potential to be a good Steemian.
I think newcomers like you have a lot to learn and understand from this post
