Why did we go from mostly getting sbd to now mostly getting steem for rewards?

I and most people here are not techno- crypto- wizards and have no clue why this happened. I try to stay strong in this place, but I am thinking of currency manipulation, which kind of bothers me.

I saw a bunch of posts about how you could take advantage of the steem/sbd ratio for a day or two and then - oops! No, this way to make money on transferring steem/sbd was gone and now we get steem for our rewards.

I feel like all this fun and games with the rewards will keep regular people out of here. i'm a weight loss coach, not a crypto-pro
