Ever since your last post I'm thinking, do steemit or steem needs some kind of central governance or conflict resolution system, to avoid flag wars and tribes forming, which I perceive as a great threat to this ecosystem

Centralization goes against the nature of the blockchain. It is up to the community to figure out a resolution...if one is even needed.
I would just hate for Steemit to be what Bitcoin is now just fork after fork
What? $16,000 a token?
And there is still a ton of development on the bitcoin original blockchain..more than anyo other single chain at this point.
Wait, a 16k steem would be awesome! Nevermind what I just said :-P
