Let me tell you at first I believed what you were saying about the article was real hahah. Luckily it is not because that will indeed look bad.
Now, creating more content might work, but not everyone can do it on a daily basis.
Users have the right to upvote or downvote whatever they want. And it is still much better than FB because even though this platform isn't perfect, it can still reward users for their content like no other social media site can do.
We will have to look how future platforms similar to steem manage this problem.
Yeah as I reread it, it made my heart skip a beat and I knew it wasnt true.
I dont disagree with people's right to do something. My point is that people engaging in the behavior they are, creating a "war" (they even use war analogies) creates the opportunity for an article like I described to be written. And then what would the outlook be like on here? I imagine the complaining would reach the moon....and it all would be self-inflicted.
Yes it can reward for content, but if it devolves into a full blown trolling site with bombs tossed back and forth, is it really any better than Facebook. Many have claimed that FB is nothing but a negative cesspit. Since I dont do much on there, I will take their word for it.
Again, what do we want this blockchain to be? Do we handle all our problems by banding together and preparing for "war"?
How many people is that going to attract to this site?
Social media influencers on other platforms can make huge amounts of money, in addition to the firms that are paid to carpet-bomb social media websites with their astroturfing and marketing efforts. Steemit isn't the only website that pays on content, but it does so more directly within the website than most.
Great point...money is paid it is just a matter of who is paying it and to whom.
But make no mistake, most social media sites are big business.
