RE: OMG DID STEEM HIT $5 +...? Oh YESSSSS it did!!

I created an account at the end of last year. I can see the value of being rewarded for the content the users create instead of having a central 'owner' who benefits the most from that content without actually adding itself.

What I still not fully understand is the actual value of content on steemit.
I mean: will there be commercials? Who will actually benefit from the many views or followers?
Is it a'only' bout valuing provided content? Like appreciating the better content provided by certain users?
Without any need for commercial monetization?

Steem is worth something if 'external' people want to buy steem. They should see the value in buying steem next to only speculating on a steep raise of crypto currencies in general.

Anyone who knows how this platform might evolve? There is a lot of potential than we see with the current UI (at least ... that's what I think).
