Mate, that was a great article, you're so right, I am aiming for about a £2000 cash out whatever that is in dollars, so a little over half. The rest I'm going to hold and play with, try and hustle some Steem and like you, hopefully come along for a fun, money-making ride.
I know what you mean about getting BTC to GBP, I have recently taken Euros from Kraken and then take the hit from my bank, which is pretty small. I hardly noticed on a €400 transfer.

Good to know about Kraken. Until this weekend I hadn't looked into converting to GBP in about a year. I know I'd need to as some of my friends will be looking to withdrew. I experimented with Circle & Bitstamp. I should know how much my bank charges in the next few days.
It's better than before when it was pretty much impossible to withdraw to GBP without going peer-to-peer.
If I do need to cash out I'd probably liquidate some of my other crypto holdings before touching Steem.
Yeah they're good, only 2 stage verification for Euros 3 for GBP, but my passport is out of date and I haven't renewed :-(
Otherwise the 3 stage would have been no problem and then I take GBP. but British banks are a ball ache and I think the whole thing ends up costing as much as a Euro transfer anyway.
