RE: Using the block chain to defend against Censors and Trolls!

in #steem8 years ago

Good post, trolling and flagging will become less of an issue as the community expands. I note, however, a growing community concern over weighted voting. That is to say the fact that some people who were early adopters have much greater influence on rewards and payouts. This fact seems to dissuade newcomers, as it makes them feel second class citizens in a rigged voting system. Perhaps it is time to reconsider whether weighted voting remains beneficial to the community.

I definitely see it too! It's hard not to get discouraged by the infighting and it's so frustrating when someone with the power to make a positive change does nothing and so much worse when they use their influence to push out people who are trying to contribute but maybe don't quite yet understand the unwritten rules of the community. I am still holding out hope that things will continually improve as long as the platform keeps attracting the best people! Anything the developers and early adopters can do to persuade the right people to come aboard will make the biggest difference in the long run. Thanks for commenting!
