I know, this title is really strong and provocatory, but I have my reasons.
I like this new idea, the concept of being payed by posting articles, pages ... Cool, really...
BUT
this system is too centralizated in the hand of less big whales who got Millions, yeah, Millions of SteemPower (SP)
What is SP
SP are ALL in this platform, because without them you're nothing.
With SP you can reward users who wrote good/bad post and let him gain some SteemDollar(SD)
--> How to do this? Simple, give him a like!
With a like you'll earn some SP based on the value of the post you liked at the end of 24hours
--> so, the more is the value, the more you get, but BASED on your actual SP
SP can't be transfered, only changed in STEEM value, but you have to wait 104 weeks.
if you're newest on Steem, your SP value is almost 0
--> then your SP gain from a like is 0, same as the user you've put the like.
For example:
user A got 10 SP (newest account)
user B got 1M SP
user Z post / comment
A and B vote Z
user A vote user Z --> Z gain almost 0 SD and SP --> A gain almost 0 SP for reviewing
user B vote user Z --> Z gain some cent/dollars and some SP --> B gain some SP for reviewing
Moral of the story
like post for user A is worthless, until he/she got MORE SP
user B is gaining and it's ok.
Maybe There's too much disparity , B users can "control/give" most of the rewards and have most of the opinion value
How to get SP
- easy way: introduceyourself post and then BUY IT
- hard way (recommended): write a lot of well made articles (good is better but not essential) and hope for some whale's like.
- wrong way: buy accounts with a lot of SP. With this way you'll only milk whales and make them very happy
If you really want to reward an user (and you're a newest user) the simple way is to send him STEEM or SD
I'm sad when I can only reward some very good post with 0 or (rarely) 0.01$.
"whales" devs, can you change something and let STEEM users more happy with boosting their "like" power?
Maybe we need
- a reputation system based on quality post and add more "like option", for example
- awesome - good - meh - bah - bad - SPAM
- every like costs some SP, BASED on the total we got (the more we have, the more it costs) or with a fixed price

Steem, at the moment, is a piramid scam...only few people can make money with a simple like...
Over time more curators may get their SP up and the more posters will get rewarded. Unfortunately, at this time, the SP is concentrated in the hands of a small group and unless they upvote your posts you aren't gonna get much. The danger here is that a lot of quality posters may leave before the system equalizes and this may impact STEEM in a negative way before it has a chance to really grow.
