RE: Negative Voting and Steem

in #steem8 years ago

Just a few observations and suggestions

  • Down vote the voter is a good idea. However, If you do that, it needs to be weighted for equality
  • if down voting post is necessary, post should go into immediate arbitration if value of post goes down below a certain percentage
  • Arbitration is immediate and finite (1hr?)
    arbitration rules: weighted by reputation
    65-75 worth 25 votes
    55-64 worth 5 votes
    54 and below 1 vote
  • Immediate restart after arbitration ruling

You could obvious tweek a few of the voting parameters. Adding the arbitration gives voters the chance to even the playing field if perceived unfairness is suspected.

Just a few quick suggestions..Your thoughts?

@celsius100 1 hour? We'd pretty much have to live on the platform to be that attentive. The 12 hour payouts are already being upped to a 24 hour cycle because in a global platform on the internet even 12 hours is a very small window of time when you consider that half the globe is sleeping for 6 to 8 of those hours and the rest likely have real lives to attend to outside of Steemit.
