What drives your use of the Steemit platform? Think of this question as almost another introduceyourself, but as it applies to you today vs. when you joined... I want to start a conversation that helps cross the borders into each others categories. Maybe we can spark an interest in our fellow Steemians so that we can help each other grow and prosper.

Is it for the...Money(Short or Long term), The Blog, To Be Heard, The Platform Growth, A Refreshing Form of Social Media, Becoming a Witness, To Help Others, Boredom, Speculation, Expressing Yourself, Showing Art, Creating Music, Informing the Masses, Self-Marketing, Culture, or maybe it's just plain old Curiosity?

In just few words or sentences below tell me what drives you to contribute to Steemit. Maybe it will contribute to a new interest in another member, or maybe it will shine the spotlight on yourself...Don't worry I'll start the conversation.
I actually just joined a few days ago, and I hope this discussion will help inspire my future posts.
I'm not really here for the money directly. Though I think it is an innovative tool to help direct community growth in a positive manner, I feel it should not be the main focus of my steemit efforts. Of the reasons you listed platform growth is probably the most important to me and it is also a very refreshing form of social media. Many other platforms have no incentive to create quality content and virtually no recourse for inflammatory or destructive posts. I want to watch steemit grow and effect the world at large in positive ways no one ever expected.
I'm actually still trying to find a good driver to post right now as a new steemian. I have been considering a sort of review of steemit as I see it from my perspective as a way to track developments and add my sentiment to the space. I've also been talking to a lot of people about steemit who have never heard of it before. One such person even asked me if I'd be willing to promote their art on my account!
Stay true to you my friend and contribute what you know best
I am not going to mince words here! I am here for all of the above and more. To lie and say I am not here for the money wouldn't be beneficial to myself or anyone. I have expenses just like everybody else so if this is a platform where I could make a few extra dollars per month to cover those expenses, why not go for it? After all my mother did not raise a fool!
Well put I would be very much in agreement. Why not kill two birds with one stone. Money is always a nice incentive!

I started journey with Steem today. In short, my goal is to identify where I can contribute the most value to the various IRL and digital communities I find myself positioned in. Since I am slightly naive to the dynamics of Steem, I will be embarking on discovery period to determine how to best spread my learnings (should I treat the platform like Quora, Medium, etc). At the end of the day, I am optimistic on the power of distributed digital communities and hope to bring as much value as I can to relevant parties. Additionally, I am seeking ways to best leverage the power of Steem to learn about fascinating subjects and engage in discussions with awesome people.

Steemit is a place where you get to know different races and you guys can be of help to each other
