Well guys it has been an interesting 3.8 years here on this weird dark corner of the Internet. The recent events don't surprise me one bit in some respects.

@ned always seemed like a sketch ball man baby rich kid to me who never hustled a day in his life. He doesn't know how to thug it out by sleeping in his car in a Wal-Mart parking lot to not spend money to keep HODLing crypto and always having cash on hand to keep buying more crypto when everyone else is on Suicide watch eating a gallon of ice cream in their closet crying.
I got the majority of my money out of here in 2019 for the most part. It was constantly one wrong turn after another from both Steemit Inc and the majority of the Witnesses / large ghost accounts.
Well let me rephrase that..... they were acting in their own best interest and about 60 individuals had an amazing cash cow for years at the expense of everyone else for the most part.
Everything that has been a decent idea has been overran by greed here. The Witness voting has always basically been a joke for the most part. I mean even @partiko couldn't get support and can you imagine what a developer of that talent level would have gotten paid to make that app out in industry? Like $180,000. The app was no joke. And they didn't get support from other Witnesses or from Steemit, INC ...... What in the actual Fuck? Right there tells you the story. Remember how Steemit INC promised a native app for Android and iOS? They even hired a guy to do it. @ned man babied out and didn't have him even work on that I guess.
The proposal system. Good in theory but again way too stingy with funds 266,982 SBD in there ready and waiting instead of approving stuff. Just like I said it will mainly be used to feed the same Witnesses and same people collecting the funds in the first place.
So it seems funny to me when a lot of the smaller accounts are rallying around this idea that the Witnesses had everyone's best interest in mind. A lot of them really didn't and it was mainly a good old boys circle jerk club. That wasn't across the board. There are some talent individuals for sure.
As far as Justin buying Steemit INC and doing something is honestly better than the direction this blockchain was going. Probably the rumor that he was going to buy the place was the only reason it didn't slide off the first page of CoinMarketCap. At least he is able to get Steemit.com and the STEEM blockchain back into the conversation.
For your general community member / blogger things can't really get much worse around here for the most part. Well actually it could. It was going to be like WEKU in 2 years basically.
Justin doing something with it was better than being flat lined and a depressed community of boring content mills pumping content that wouldn't go viral anywhere else on the Internet.

Honestly pretty early on a lot of knew about the sketchy Ninja mine and overtime we kept seeing empty promises never getting fulfilled and yet some of us still chased the carrot and threw money into this dumpster fire.
STEEM was like that really hot chick you saw and you finally got the balls to talk to her and it turned out she had 6 kids by 5 different baby daddies and she was also on meth.
Instead of putting on your track spikes and running you thought you were going to bang her out just once. You lost your mind MAN!!!! Thought you could turn 1 BTC into 1.5 BTC didn't you?
Suddenly you knocked her up and you are baby daddy number 6 and your life is ruined.
To make matters worse there is a power struggle occurring and you are on the hook for supporting all 7 kids!
Probable Outcome
There probably will be a hard fork and may result in 2 or 3 different communities. Maybe even 4. Being back in Indiana and seeing a church on every corner has reminded me that people can't get along very well. People want to be in power so they will fracture off and start their own little thing and try to command followers. It is the natural course of human power struggles.
Those in power will seek to remain in power. Those not in power will seek to gain power.
As for Steemit.com it will likely become TRON based and we will mostly be fine with that as long as we can earn more than we are earning now. Then we will content dump across all the other clones and STEEM 8.0's of the world and hope that we can stack more Litecoins or whatever.
eSteem is pretty legit though yo. It works very well. But partiko was really good too.
With the acquisition by Tron, maybe Justin could make this place interesting again. This place was going nowhere in terms of marketing/popularity but now Justin might be able to get more users since he actually knows how to market stuff. Even though Steem makes new developments, we suck at actually building hype outside of our little community.
It is what it is. Im actually pretty impressed by eSteem though.
For sure. eSteem is legit. Good Karma and his team is legit and he is my top Witness if I had to rank #1.
I haven't downloaded the new version which I should. I just have a habit of going into Partiko still.
I think Justin can bring some changes to get people talking for sure. Better than being on life support.
I liked the article, @brianphobos. You criticized current situation with 0.22.2 soft-fork but also showing there is not only two posible sides by also criticizing Ned Scott.

On my view on this: I will be supporting and using the result of Steemit purchase by Tron.

Lol indeed crypto was never going to be a place where human nature would be changed only amplified in a different way. You just have more choice now to fuck off and sell if you don't like one way or another which is what this is about freedom of choice and movement and finding value, price discovery and having an open market for money, value exchange, ideas and more.
I do enjoy steem and invested in it, am I tied to it? Not really, the mistakes made here just like any other chain are learning experiences, if it's learned from it improves the project, if it kills the chain it allows for lessons, investors, users capital and developers to move to new projects and improve it
Call me agnostic, call me a chain whore I care more about what the industry as a whole can do. It's got an important role to play in the future with centralised economies eating themselves and middlemen extracting value at unprecedented levels without adding anything to the economy
While governments squander value and destroy livelihood for political gain. IE fro every public job/government job created how many private jobs never got to see the light of day? I'm sure far more than we can count.
Theirs a sinking ship and this place needs to provide a life raft, or thats just how my dramatic ass sees it
I also see crypto as one unit in the end. Overtime we make adjustments and keep moving
