Changing The Recovery Account on Steem

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

Here is one interesting info which I couldn't find googling.

As you already might know it's possible to claim accounts if you have enough RCs. Fellow Steemian @digital.mine offers claimed accounts for free since some time ago when Steemit registration was lasting over two weeks. I got one free account claimed by @digital.mine which he made for my wife @mamadragana. If you check that account on steemd you will see that recovery account for it is @digital.mine. So, I wanted to change this.

After some googling I found couple of articles similar to @themarkymark's found here: https://busy.org/@themarkymark/how-to-change-your-recovery-account
This would be the steps listed by @themarkymark:

  • Install CLI Wallet
  • Connect to CLI Wallet
  • Set Wallet Password
  • Unlock Wallet
  • Get private owner key
  • Import Key
  • Issue change_recovery_account command
  • Wait for 30 days

So, logical question was is there an easier way to do this? @themarkymark said this is the only way: https://steemit.com/steemit/@themarkymark/how-to-change-your-recovery-account#@themarkymark/re-boyanpro-re-themarkymark-how-to-change-your-recovery-account-20190116t145929664z

But it isn't! Now it's possible to easily in few clicks initiate recovery account change on steemworld.org. Big thanks to @steemchiller for steemworld app which contains lots of useful steem tools.

You can find explanation how to change steem recovery account by using steemworld.org on the following link: https://busy.org/@steemchiller/steemworld-weekly-support-20

Also on that post there are lost of descriptions of other useful tools recently developed by @steemchiller. And you can support him by upvoting his posts. This support he also uses for server costs.

Hi @boyanpro, steemworld.org has also made undelegation very simple. You have just click the relevant "X" button in "Delegations" and it is done. You can also edit the delegation to increase or reduce the amount of delegation. Yes, I do support him by upvoting his posts regularly.

Hi @devann! Yes, I've used delegations feature before. BTW, thanks for your delegation! I saw you delegated to me some SP. Thanks!
