How to send your post rewards to another account

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

If for some reason you want to send your post rewards including SP to another account there is a way to do that.

Use Case Examples

  • You may have the posting key of an organisation account and want to send the post rewards for your own post to your own personal account.
  • You may want to post something to say thank you to somebody and send the rewards for your thank you post to the person you are thanking.
  • You may have more than one account but wish to send your SP to a separate account from the one you post from.

Beneficiaries

If you look at posts on steemd.com and click on Advanced mode you can see a lot of data from the blockchain about this post. One of the things listed is "beneficiaries". Beneficiaries are the accounts which are receiving a percentage of the post rewards. You can see where beneficiaries are listed in the screenshot below.

You can see from the screenshot that there are 4 beneficiaries in this post.
@dmania @lafona-miner @xeldal @zombee
The weight shows what % of the post rewards are going to the beneficiary listed.

Weight : 1 is equal to 0.01%
Therefore weight 1,000 is actually 10%
And weight 500 is 5%
You can see from adding these beneficiaries up that they are receiving a total of 25%* of the authors post rewards. So the author is receiving 75% of the rewards shown just before the time of the payout.

*(This is the price several of the 3rd party applications are charging their users to use the platform)

HOW TO DO IT

  1. First go to https://steemwhales.com/post/
  2. Fill in the title and skip permalink - that will fill itself in after title.
  3. Fill in your content and tags just as you would on steemit.
  4. Under "Beneficiaries" click +Addand the box below should pop up.
  5. Enter the name of the person you want to send your post rewards to, then enter the percentage of the rewards you would like them to receive. For example in the image above I am sending @neander-squirrel 100% of my post rewards. That means that 0% of the rewards will be paid out to me.
  6. Finally, enter your steem account name next to Author Username and fill in your POSTING KEY* below. You can ignore Steem Dollars % and Max accepted payout and leave them as they are unless you want to deny payout or lose money by powering up 100%.
*Do not use your master password for third party sites like this one. ONLY USE POSTING KEY

This is my post of the day. Very detailed and educative. Thanks for sharing

Yes @onyemacourage. I am so excited about this post basically because it has answered one of the most challenging question I have been asking the person that introduced me to this platform. I will check other of her posts and maybe follow her. I love detailed and valuable contents. Thanks @beanz

Why we need to do this?

You don't "need to" but you might want to. I included examples of reasons you MIGHT in the first paragraph of the post.

It's surprising how someone would think he knows a lot about steemit just to hear another superb quality information.....

Have learnt a lot thanks

posts that are the motivation for other steemit users, and an easy way to understand

I'm going to try this out. It looks much easier to transfer rewards through this means. I wouldn't need to worry if I have typed a username correctly anymore. Thanks for sharing this.

You will still have to type the username correctly into the beneficiaries box

Oh! I'm going to learn with the gina poem. I just my entry, not really a poet but the urge to learn something new just about served as a good motivation.

I keep getting this error message.

This is too small for me to read. Can you copy and paste the text instead of screenshot

Replied above, could you delete the long comment please? Sorry for the inconvenience

Showing the same thing on me. And I did not do anything on permalink.

Show me a screenshot please

Thanks @beanz for a good information. I once read a post on a steem tool that features beneficiaries, maybe the name of the tools is steem plus

I had no idea you could even do this, this is really nice to know, thank you.

Wow!!!
What a very useful information. You have shared. I have once observed that on someone's account but didn't know how it happened.

Thanks for sharing this info

thanks a lot, very good information,👍👍👍

posting information is very good friend, I resteem your friends post.

Wow, wow! It will be convenient for many users. Now I see these pooled accounts, where multiple authors. So it will be convenient to distribute the profit according to who exactly wrote this post. It's like a more directed orientation of steemit on the user experience.

Thank information friend.

Mammoth flow of information, quite fascinating and informative. Well done @beanz

Wonderful! I knew it could happen but didn't know how. Thank you for the education!

I really liked how you're so detailed in delivering this tutorial.
Have you considered having this in a video tutorial, so as to accommodate the visual learners following you because I am joining them now.

Cheers!
I am @isaaceko

Very good @beanz, Thanks for share us that post.

thanks my brother for his very useful information.
oh yes, I am newcomer here please help and guidance, if can please visit my blog.

Wow, this post is just right on time for me. I'm planning to give all my reward on a post to another account after payout. Don't know there is a better way of doing that. Thanks for the enlightenment

Thank you

Thanks, this is something i didn't know it could be done...

That's a cool thing I wasn't aware about. I don't think I will ever use it but still good to know.
Is dmania.lol a third party website ? They only accept master passwords for login. Is it a risk ?

Are you serious?? I'm not sure this is true they only accept master passwords. If you are logging in through steemconnect then you can use your masterpassword because that's not actually dmania. Definitely do not give dmania your master password.

Thanks for.the information. I think I'll change my password and not use dmania again. Anyways it never up-votes my post. Chased of for long enough.

Now that will be a good way for me to make part of my post rewards go to You Are Hope! This is outstanding!

Aaargh (in a good way)!

Well, off on my little ship to find some more great helpful posts on the Sea of STEEM! Ahoy Pirate Queen!

I wrote a beautiful poem for @ginabot but I couldn't publish it, I don't understand what "Author Posting Private Key" means, could you help me??

Really informative post.
One thing: From the screenshot, it is seen that steem dollar 100%. Is it means reward will be in 100% SBD? not the typical 50%/50% split?

@beanz, hope you're well! Just an fyi... the last couple times I used Steemwhales to and requested 100% SBD, it sent my beneficiaries vested Steem instead. Last time I tried was in November. Curious if it's been corrected.

Hope you're doing good!

This is what I have been looking for. Thanks for this information. I'm still saving my earnings.
