Hello Steemit!
My name is Anik Dang.
I would love to share a post dedicated to everyone who is unsure whether he or she should start writing on Steemit. I hope you enjoy a light read and have a dang great day!
5 reasons to start posting on Steemit
1) Most people enjoy knowing about other people
Humans are biosocial creatures, i.e. the thing we all love as much as sex is being connected to the society one way or another.
People on social media and blogs love reading other people’s thoughts and views to feel connected and relevant, to some extent. Share your world and people will reciprocate and love you.
2) You have a unique story to tell
You, and your mind, are a result of many years of programming by the experiences you go through over your lifetime, and distorted by a perception lens that is in your genes.
If there were only 2 choices of what a person could do every hour, there would already be enough possibilities for each person in the world to have a different life experience in the last 33 hours! Think about that… So, trust me, you are definitely unique with a unique story to tell.
3) Practice your Steemit posting skills while it is not to late
Steemit is relatively young so you have an advantage over those who will start later. By the time Steemit will have hundreds of millions of users you will already have figured out and established (or maybe closer to establishing ;)) a niche for your posts.
4) Writing posts allows you to train your thinking and ability to reflect
The more you post the more you need to think beforehand; and, as Henry Ford once said, thinking is the hardest work there is.
Really, thinking is so hard that most people do not do it. Try to take a day off from your work and think… just stay home and think. Let me know what is your record =)
The greatest things have always been achieved from those who think. It took Albert Einstein decades of thought experiments to derive one of the most prominent formulas E=mc^2. So, what are you waiting for? Lets think, post and make money!
5) No Downside
Being disliked or wrong on Steemit does not cost you anything while if you are liked you get the direct recognition AND financial rewards!
Do you remember what professors used to tell you in classrooms when you were afraid to speak up? – “You do not get punished if you are wrong in the classroom, while in real life that might cost you a job and all goes to hell”. Well, not that dramatic, but you get the point.
Great content and knowledge you have, thank you!
Thanks. Very motivational.
Nice post, im gonna check out you blog, see if like more post. check out my @pipokinha
THis is my first post! More to come! Will check you out, thank you! =)
I get the motivation part of it all, but motivating people to post crud just because it 'might earn them some money' is foolish.
There IS a downside to it, if the spam overtakes the quality content, we need to curate through rivers of shit or risk losing value of the platform. Lurk more and learn what makes a good post if you lack in the passion to directly contribute. Posting for the hell of posting is costing value for all of us involved.
Agreed. In the end, only quality content will be upvoted. So people will think more before they post something for sure. But so far anyone can try himself or herself out without big penalties (I am not talking about opportunity cost of time here). Anyone should do so, explore yourself here and you get direct feedback right away =)
