Tracking the correction is eerily hypnotic

I don't know if I'm just a glutton for punishment, but I've spent a few hours watching the market as it's done some extra heavy correction over the last 24 hours. I'm watching money in the spreadsheet evaporate while also digging into some cash I had to buy in. Since I'm not playing with stake I cashed out at the highs this still feels like a gamble rather than a free roll.

Trading View

I've been watching trading view. I'm willing the chart with my mind to go back within the triangle so it really does look more like a bullish wick then it would a delay to a crash. It keeps ticking up and down. The ups I don't mind, but the downs are frustrating. I can make money again in more traditional ways if I have to. I just don't want to be wrong and either disappoint my spouse or face ridicule from friends and family.

I keep coming back to the simple thought that the people involved in this are revolutionaries. You're gonna have to pry my keys from my cold dead hands before I give up crypto. I imagine that many others are like that too. We live this. We love this. We see how it's changing the world. Maybe from big finance won't back that up, but I'm pretty sure there will be people, and if there's lots of people then money will follow.

I can't tell you that I'm not nervous. But I can tell you I feel like we'll make it through this. Steem's still at $3 even after btc got knocked down pretty hard. That's a strong plus. Back in November I'd still be hoping for $3. Just had to take the high road to get there.

Sort:

Exactly what you said in the last couple of paragraphs, now isn't a bad time to pick up some crypto even if it does go lower, because we both know it could be worth a hell of a lot more further down the road. Don't worry about trying to time the bottom perfectly.

The crazy part to me is that if you had told me six months ago that Steem would be at $3, I would have been through the roof. It's crazy how much of an impact the volatility can have.

Here is a post that discusses the correlation between price/active addresses ... current data apparently shows the price is about to go back up.

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@cryptoeagle/confirmed-bitcoin-is-going-back-up-this-strong-correlation-never-fails

Yeah, the market is crazy! But for some reason I'm not worried at all. I think no matter how low everything will go, the prices will bounce back. There's just way too many people that care about cryptos and will never give them up. if people are interested, they will put money into this.
I think worrying about it is not a good thing, because worrying never changes anything, but it affects your mind in a negative way.

Steem didn’t drop as much as most other cryptos. In my opinion this shows Steem has support and value no matter what happens to btc, eth, etc. If this crash taught me anything it taught me to invest more in Steem!

yeah, Steem seems to be the real deal these days. New highs incoming!

I really believe it’s going to hit $10 this before mid March

facts! 👌

We live this. We love this. We see how it's changing the world.

I am taking these words to bed @aggroed
..you just made my night with this post.

Market Manipulation 101 Jim Cramer admits the Markets are Phony & Manipulated by robots... Wait, what? https://d.tube/v/josearteaga/ee99dns0 snap (2).jpg

resteemit done sir

You would do a lot better writing proper comments rather than spam

Thanks for sharing @aggroed. I've taken the last few days away from looking at the markets, as I've been focusing on other projects, but I agree with your general ethos.

I am not in crypto purely for the money; although it has to be said that it's a great bonus! I'm in it because of its revolutionary properties, hence why I don't stick purely to cryptos, but the blockchain in general. I am holding out and I will continue to do so, as I am in a similar position - I can make money from more conventional roles if I need to, but I am moving to working on Steemit full time for now and will help working towards that goal for as long as I can.

Thanks again for sharing!

No need to worry guys. As long as we make profit from btc its fine :)

Since I'm not playing with stake I cashed out at the highs this still feels like a gamble rather than a free roll.

Seriously if you did this, then you are the real MVP

@aggroed
I understand perfectly well what you feel right now and its like you are in a box doing your thing while everyone just look at you and you never know whats in their mind whether they want you to win or just to confirm their point on why you shouldnt have invested on that new round, but they always comeback around to celebrate with you when you succeed and then you have your chance to make you point. I wish you success
@fuhreresu

this is very important post
thanks for sharing a valuable post

Very very good thanks for sharing misster @aggroed l like

You will make yourself crazy trying to follow the little ups and downs of the market, if your strategy is to hold long term then the best thing is to not look at your portfolio at all. There is nothing fundamentally changed in the markets, there was the stupid memo on Friday and the devastating Patriots loss but those things don't really have any long term impacts. It would not surprise me if all the losses from the last few days evaporate by the end of the week. Remember that the very wealthy like volatility because they make money on the swings.

It is about making you think from a different perspective..

Am indeed so very nervous and dont really know what to do at this moment.. Sometimes i buy in bits and also gets fustrated when i watch the market dip again.. Thanks for your posts This is just an encouragement to me.. Cheers and goodluck in your trading.

This nice post thanks for sharing this crytocurrency..

many people panic when bitcoin droped, something we should be grateful that steem is not down..
and may be more panic when often see your picture... hahaha.. LoL
My head is dizzy when I see this picture, hhmm..

The wind of frustration occasioned by crypto crashes is still blowing. Certainly, it's an I'll wind that brings no one any good. Bitcoin has proven to be a coin with two sides - one of bullish joy and the other, of bearish despondency.

I hope your commitment is rewarded and that steemit as a community does survive. In the short time I have been here I can see the potential to share music, art, literature, ideas and wealth across the world. It would be wonderful to see it thrive and shake off the greed and exploitation of the banking world :)

you create a great post....i impressed to see it...Lot of thanks for Sharing this informative and valuable post....best of luck brother....

ahh... I'm really nervous!
this event should be changed in a positive way shortly.
I had dreams for a little SBD I could win! :)

There's light at the end of the tunnel - the Commodity Futures Trading Commission(CFTC) Chair gave a speech addressing Cryptos in front of Congress.

Highlights of what he said:

"His kids were not interested in stocks but are hooked onto cryptocurrencies, and the government has to respect that, and develop a positive outlook.

While scams and fraudsters must be cracked down, the general market must be allowed to develop. A working group of SEC, FINCEN, CFTC and other group members are working on identifying scams in this space.

When asked if Crypto has any "intrinsic value"? - There is an intrinsic value and relation of the value of bitcoin and the cost of mining it.

"We must crack down hard on those who abuse our young enthusiasm for bitcoin and blockchain technology"

"We owe it to this new generation, to respect their interest in this new technology with a thoughtful regulatory approach."

Not the holy grail, but it's a start.

The more those assholes get involved the worse it'll be for everyone. We're inc crypto to get away.

Get away from the Fed and the archaic banking institutions, yes, but not the fundamental government that this country was built on; even if the majority of them are corrupt.

Money was in different form: salt, fur, fish … silver, gold, and paper money… virtual money in all those cards looks closer to crypto… Graphs and analyses are worthy to get trends to trade efficiently but the point I make: Crypto is the money for IT era of which dawn we are witnesses. It will be for a long time

We're together on this, I'm not giving up crypto, not in this life, not in the after life. I'm optimistic about this, it will get better.

nice pick.
i will save it because it is uncommon pick.

I was watching BTC to bounce at $6k and sure enough my lucky guess we turned higher today at $6,048.26, although I'm certainly not calling a bottom. STEEM/SBD are bouncing nicely too, up 10% in the past 24 hours, so maybe we can all breath a sigh of relief and hope the correction has run its course.

For now it seems winter is over, all of the top cryptos starts stabilizing BTC up by 6% etherium by 9% ripple 4% steem close to 3%
The two giants that's elephant(India),& dragon (China) smacked really hard but now it looks like dark period is over for the cryptos at least for now.

@aggroed I am still pretty new to crypto currencies in general, but so far it is incredible. My wife and I got really started with Steemit when SBD was above $10. This dip is certainly an eye opener, but nothing to jump of the chicken coop over haha. I don't follow close enough to predict, but reading these different posts gives me hope! @freedompoint

I faced very much loss because i invested more money on 31st January. And after that market is crashed. So i am praying to get the market at least to the 31st Jan level.
