DISCORD AND DSOUND: Bringing Steemit Musicians to You
by @warpedpoetic | July 27, 2018
The steem universe has opened up a rich and flourishing vista of content that were previously inaccessible as a result of the bias and elitist attitude of the traditional platforms of content creation and expression.
Many content creators, presently on the steem blockchain, previously could not find the audience for their works as a result of their inability to find platforms that could accommodate their art which in some cases did not fit into traditionally accepted perspectives or due to the fact that they could not afford the fees they had to be paid to become a part of the community which they rightfully belonged to.
The entertainment community is filled with lots of talented individuals who may never find a place for their voice to be heard because they do not fit into a particular box or idea of what is artistic, beautiful, interesting or entertaining.
The steemit platform as well as other platforms built on the steem blockchain have created for the entertainment industry, a place where one can express his or her art in the manner that is pleasing and unique to one without the interference of entities who think they know what is better, and get paid for it as well as engage an audience who are unbiased about the content and context of their piece of art.
Due to the failure of the entertainment industry to cater to all of its children, the steem blockchain has become a safe haven for these beautiful souls and musicians on steemit are a big part of the entertainment industry on the steem blockchain.
@dsound today caters to a varied collection of musicians on the blockchain; from hiphop, to pop, to jazz, to other forms of musical expressions. It caters to amateur musicians on open mic contests as well as professionals sharing their studio records. These guys have found a space, where they can pour out their artistry without the worry of censorship, bias and all the other inanities that has infected the traditional platforms.
If you are on discord, then you may have heard of the peace, abundance and life server (PAL) ran by @aggroed. It is quite popular among redfishes and minnows as a result of the minnowsupport upvote activity which sometimes can make the difference between an ignored post and a rewarded post. The server also has another niche and that is music.
Almost all of its shows are musically inclined and not just any music. You get on a show and all you hear are songs and productions by steemians. It is an awesome experience most times. A night on some of their shows is a veritable buffet of great original music.
On the server are musicians like @yidneth, @isaria, @jonmagnusson, @soundwavesphoton, and more. @soundwavesphoton produce beats and background for not only music but also for spoken word poetry, in case you don't know.
@isaria does a curation for musicians every week. She hosts the show on Mspwaves radio on the PAL server with @swelker101 and @krystle. On the show awesome music is shared for open mic contests and at the end a top selection is made and they get a reward for good content. It is a fun do and entertaining too. This is this week's winners on the open mic contest here.
Also @isaria does a curation show for musicians on @dsound, so you have about five steemians getting curated by the mspwaves account every week. You can check out this week's winners here.
If you are music fan and you are having a bored morning, afternoon or evening depending on your location, the PAL server is a great place to be. You will hear great music that would inspire you to write great content.
Entertainment is something that we can all do with most times. A great song could uplift your spirit when you are feeling low and that is always a good thing. You can check through @dsound and you will easily find something that would kick-start your day. Peace
