The problem with allowing Steem users to directly upload video or other large files directly to the blockchain is that the system would experience all sorts of lagging and efficiency problems. However, just providing Youtube or Vimeo links is not an effective way to preserve the content of posts. My suggestion is to allow users the ability to buy space for direct uploads such as mp4 files. If we could use our Steem to do this then the content that we really like will be more securely stored.
