This is very interesting. I'm a big fan of @steemsports and was the first winner of the weekly stats payout. However, recently I have noticed more negative sentiment among users about the amount of SteemSports posts on the trending page and the amount of rewards its sucking up from the reward pool.

My thoughts are ideally for @steemsports to find enough sponsors to supplement payouts and maybe to decline payouts when that happens. Also to incentivise greater rewards for participants and to boost price of Steem, maybe the bar could be raised for people to participate and receive rewards. Eg. Participants will need to have minimum of 500 SP to vote.
