Congratulations, reaching 3500 followers is no easy feat. I am thankful for each follower that I gained each day. The contest that you hosting is one great way to help minnows out there. 700 SP may not mean much to some people but to small minnow like myself it would mean months and months of hard work. I am willing to put in the hard work but getting the 700 SP would also mean that I am in a better position to help others like myself who has just started their journey in steemit. Allow me to give a bit introduction about myself.

Introduction

My name is Edward. I am a fingerstyle guitarist. I stumbled upon steemit by chance when one of my student told me that he knows of one social media platform that can generate income and give me a bit of visibility. I was on youtube and although there is a reasonable crowd and views but I am hardly paid anything and I started to lose interest until recently.

I am doing my A-Levels in a local college and I teach guitar to help cover my daily expenses. Now it gets better because I started seeing money coming in through the videos that I recorded and posted in steemit. I am a man of many interest, but mostly useless interests. Those that does not generate money but in fact makes me spend more. I love to eat.

I also love gardening and most of the time I plant edible plants. The reason I do that is just to answer people who will ask me if what I do can be eaten, then I would gladly tell them yes. I plant cucumbers, tomatoes, four angled beans and a few others edible plants.

My Minnow Story

Everyone have their minnow story to tell, I have mine to share too. When I first started, I thought that posting alone will be sufficient and a good content will eventually attract the right crowd. But I was wrong, it seems that crowd does not generate organically. Then I realised that I must engage communities and other influential individuals, that is when I started to be more proactive. I am quite socially awkward and shy, so it is not easy for me speak to people that I do not know.

I plucked the courage and pick my first community which is #teammalaysia. I got some good support from some good people that I meet there. Then I stumbled upon #steem-music, now that is where I can start calling my own home. People with similar interest with mine. So far, I have been leeching on these good people by taking advantage of their upvotes and I feel bad. I see minnows like myself starting out in the platform and they do generate good contents but they are hardly rewarded.

What Would I Do With the Delegation

I want to give back to the community that helped me grow. I want to be the one that gives the newbies a pat on their back and say, well done, here is my few cents because you are good. Not because you are worth a few cents but because that is what I can afford to give. I hope to be able to retain good talents particularly in the music industry. There are many people like myself that do music as our passion and sharing and being appreciated means the world to us.

In the end of the day, be it 700 SP or 70 SP I believe it is the thought that counts and I am very glad be part of this. The reason I write this post is so that I can share this with you apart from vying for that lucrative delegation that you are offering.

I hope that you do not find this song too childish but since there is no song on minnows, this is what I can come up with and I hope that you enjoy.

My idea of having this guitar fingerstyle video is because I believe music should be fun and engaging and my style is to engage with people and do it my way....
