Do you know how to make a word link an address? For example... The video can be found "here" and by clicking on "here" it links you to the address?

Put the word inside brackets and the link in parenthesis right after it, touching the brackets. Word in [] and link in () with the first ( touching the last ]

i have used the normal markdown in all other posts and never had an issue...so maybe they have changed the format on steemit?

EDIT: right now your thumbnail works fine: your post is displayed correctly and has a thumbnail.
