HAPPY NEW YEAR ARTWORK

Okay, I am HIGH again. It 31 December 2017. The last day of this year and also the last artwork that I make for this year.
SO, now I am at my hometown, the internet connection over here so DAMN worst, so I need to buy internet from Celcom and I am glad the internet is good but not good as Cyberjaya.

So.. Happy New Year?
Next year I am going to turn 20.. Yay.. Thats not fun, I dont want to be old. JK
And also I hope next year I can make more mone-- I mean artwork for steemit. Yeah.

So for this New Year artwork, I am creating a girl.. no.. a lady? with umbrella. AND this artwork are so special because I never done something like this, smooth line art, shading.. DAMN I am going to touch myself tonight.

So before I start drawing I need a reference for it. So I need a picture of a lady with umbrella. SO I found this:

Before that! IT been a loooonnggg time, I drew a girl or woman character. So, I am struggling to make her face look like woman and also her body. Its frustrating me while I do the sketching, the FACE oh my.. no.. no.. this is not..no

I tried to make the eyes look bigger as any anime girl character but still. It is not perfect as I wanted. I want she to look like a mature lady but I end up creating a weird face. So I erased the eyes, the ears and also nose. (wait.. that is the entire face.. NVM). Then, I redraw it again and again, it still look ugly, I think this is happen when I rarely drawing a girl. So I open up Pinterest to look at any reference and FINALLY I succeed to do it. THANKS PINTEREST!

Now this is the lady that I looking for DAMN hours! So I put her a cloth, just simple shirt. and simply redraw again the umbrella. This is my first time drawing an umbrella, I thought it going to be too difficult so I can spent another hours for this umbrella BUT I wrong, It actually easy. Umbrella is not complicated as woman? RIGHT???? No no! I am just joking. I respect wahman. Okay? We cool now.

NOW THE HARDEST PART, "INKING"

You think sketching a damn girl is hard! Think again when you need to redraw her for damn TWICE! No, I am joking, I don't even need to redraw, you just need to draw a smooth line above the sketch layer. The IMPORTANT part of this process is.. I want to make some correction for the line work. Especially, the right hair line look messy and I can't see the flow of the hair. ALSO, this process is harder because I need to draw any lines gently. PLEASE BE GENTLE! Plus, every part of her body line need to be colored differently. So example, the hair need to be draw with dull yellow and the face is with brown color.
The reason why I create this, because I don't want to used black as the line because I want the color blend with line. So you can see the balanced between the line and the color.

If you read or look at my previous post, I am just directly color with the sketches, but for this one, since it special for New Year, so I creating a smooth line with different color.
You know, New Year, New Spirit.

COLORING TIME~!

Before I start do coloring, since I suck at picking color palette, so I need to search on internet. SO I want everyone look at my artwork, so I want to pick a color palette that brighter and can attract people who look at it. So, I found this:

As usual, I start with plain color, a very simple step and the only simple step on color process. I pick color, the I put. OH MY GOD. I am done.

Now the hardest part of coloring is rendering and shading, to create the color look appear or come to life, I need to render and shade the color. What I need to do is to create a shadow on my drawing. The first part, is the face and the hand. I always start with the skin, because the shading process did not take so much time. Also, I always avoid myself from shading the hair and cloth because it will take longer. So long to finished it, so I believed I going to waste my time on that area.

After I done with the skin, yeah it is time to torture myself. DAMN, as I aspected, it took so long, because of TRY AND ERROR, to be honest I am not good with this but I love to do it. The Hair part is most hardest part because I don't even know where is the shadow located and where is the part that I need to keep brighter.

PHEW, AFTER DAMN HOURS! I am done. So I put more shadow, a huge one at the hair and cloth if you notice. I just want to make it more balanced. Because that area still contain a lot of bright color.

After that, I put white and bright color to create the light effect.

If you noticed, I am ignored the umbrella, I don't even put any shading to it. That is not because I am running of time (but actually it is true) or lazy (okay this is true. I am not lazy). The reason is I want the artwork focus to character only. Not the at the prop but character. Just the character! Just the character! So I hope the reason is clear.

Now the last thing is the background, so to be honest I am running out of time and also I am tired (not lazy okay).
So I just put random color, with rain or water drop shape. DONE

Yeah! I am done! Yeah!
