A new day, and a new topic. The last class was about knowing how humans move and there is no better stripping off the flesh than to look at the skeletons.
This was the work that was submitted to me. If you feel the skeletons is smiling or laughing at you, you are probably right. I felt the same way too. But I guess a smiling skeleton is more photogetic and more likely to get good marks from the lecturer than one that frowns.
Mr. Hanafiah did an observation demo. Do you realise that artist use their thumbs or their pen or pencils? That is their unit of measurement. The measure proportions of the human in reference to the pencil and the same distance must be unchanged.
Mr. Hanafiah proceeds to show and explain to students how these technique can work provided that the subject is an unmoving one.
The student focusing on the explanation.
The guy in hoodie, probably thought it might rain in the classroom so he came prepared. Some of my students wear cap in class because they get to shelter their eyes from the glare of the sun in our covered and air conditioned classroom. Don't ask me why, but as long as it does not interfere with the teaching process I am cool with however they want to dress. Too provocative can be deemed as interfering with the teaching process.
Demonstration from the lecturer.
The result of the demonstration. I think it look like a Michealangelo's masterpiece. All he needs to do is draw a circle and some long hair to the subject.
The the students gets started.
Then the students consult their lecturer and they discuss how their work can be improved. Overheard from where I was standing.
Sir, I use the pen and my thumb as a unit of measurement. It looks cool but I don't really know how to utilise them but it does make me look more like an artist.
Well, that is half of the battle won. To look and feel like an artist. Picasso's drawing wasn't understood by many as well, yet it sells for millions. So, you will do fine just make sure a human look like a human.
This is the student's result. Contrary to popular belief not many students enroll in this course with natural talent for drawing. Some of them are here to learn how to draw. That is why I have a job.
Don't ask me why some drawing the chair looks like an extension of the subject's limbs.
Then, there is the customary student -lecturer wefie to stamp the end of the class. I am starting to feel that I document my teaching sessions with photos. After a while I think I can teach remotely without my presentation but mere automation of my photos in form of slides.
