Top 100 paying posts (author reward):
Previous report: August-2016
@masteryoda I have a question about the graph. Around September 18, it looks like "SBD stability" activated and posts started being paid out partially in STEEM (brown area). However, it doesn't look like the amount of SBD being paid out (purple area) decreased significantly. Am I reading the graph wrong?
Below is a close-up linear chart showing a drop of SBD payouts when the SBD stability code kicked in, however, a few days later SBD payouts rose again (but not to their previous levels, the rise coincides with the correction down of the STEEM price around the 24th), the STEEM payouts dropped too later on, probably due to the formula used to calculate the SBD stability payout percentage and the state of the market prices.
Higher resolution chart is here.
Thanks for the explanation!
You're most welcome!

Excellent article !!!
Welcome to me blog @alex2016
Why not put this stuff on a website somewhere instead of sapping hundreds of dollars from Steem daily?
Edit: In re-starting this conversation I was thinking with a too narrow a point of view. Ultimately it's up to the stakes of voters to determine the value of posts here. I offer you my apology for using loaded words, @masteryoda.
Posting something on Steem does not "sap" anything. People also have to vote for it.
These posts are popular and add value to the platform IM(subjective)O.
Also the claim of hundreds of dollars daily is bizarre. Only one such post in the past week was rewarded more than $100 and most are under $20. Now those Daily Curie posts on the other hand...
Guys.
Why not let the community decide through voting? If you don't like it just ignore it.
I like this kind of stuff and he is not the only one posting these kinds of break downs. I suspect it takes some significant work to put together even if they look very similar. I think it is a matter of personal preference as to whether you like facts and figures and think it is valuable or not.
Frankly I was puzzled before when @masteryoda said he was going to stop them. Let him do them and let those of us that like them vote on them.
We need to be careful not to scare new people off and this type of singling out of certain types of posts that should or should not be posted doesn't help.
The whole point of curation is to let the community decide.
As long as no fraud, plagiarism or other abuse is occurring it should be fine.
We all want what is best for Steemit but we have to accept that we won't always agree on what makes a good post.
In that case it is best to move on to something we do like.
Well said. If we want Steemit to grow we need to be open to different kinds of content and let the voters decide. As you say, "it is a matter of personal preference as to whether you like facts and figures". Some people are very into this sort of thing, others like art, original writing, news, politics, humor, strange stuff that happened in some far away place, etc. Let's be open to all.
Well said indeed, “manually” singling out a person or a type of posts is definitely wrong, I like those posts myself and enjoy sharing them. When I first started posting stats, there were barely any stats posted, now many authors are posting very interesting stats as well which is positive and constructive.
Asking me to post them on external websites is the pinnacle of wrongness, and against Steemit spirit of free thinking. So is trying to bully me out of posting them by flagging them unjustly.
I think it comes down to different ideas of what is "good". I like facts and figures but I also like more arty stuff too.
I find these breakdowns fascinating because they give an understanding of what is happening on Steemit and I'm one of these people who visualises numbers - I'm assuming you might be the same.
Not everyone perceives them that way or sees the value in them. I think partly it goes back to the way people are taught maths early on.
Anyway keep posting the breakdowns. You have my support (even though it isn't worth much) and I know that there are many others that like this kind of thing too.
It would be a shame to drive it off the site just because it isn't to everyone's taste.
Two of his pending payouts were over $100 before Ned downvoted. I am unsure about the Curie payouts myself, and have questioned where the money goes and asked for accounting of it. At the very least I know some of it is paid to people curating in the steemit.chat channel.
At least in this case there is complete transparency AFAIK. The rewards go into @masteryoda's pocket. Curie is anything but transparent, but that's off topic here, so best not to get too deeply into it.
Gotta side with @pfunk on this one.
This is bordering on cash cowing and unjustified reward pool draining at this point.. You aren't the only user doing a script generated daily and monthly post like this. If you are doing this all by hand I apologize ahead of time for making that assumption.
At what point do we call out folks for copy and pasting their own work and making minor changes every day on it...? Better yet why is the trend to reward this type of behavior with these ridiculously high payouts for something that took so little effort once set up..?
At the point when you want me to start flagging you for harassment. No one should be harassed for posting whatever they want as long as it doesn't cause actual damage to the platform such as plagiarism, harassment, etc. Please use the voting options to express your opinion on which posts should be rewarded.
:)
:)
1% flagged as essentially trolling given the hostile wording, and since the issue was already extensively discussed (see link in @masteryoda's reply), it also veers into harassment. If you disagree with how content is rewarded, please use the voting facility.
Given the degree of trolling and harassment @masteryoda has to endure to produce these reports (in addition to the non-trivial effort to produce them) which are widely valued by both me and many others in the community, I'm adding an upvote to this post, which I hadn't previously given.
He said he quit doing these, and then started right up again. I don't find it hostile to question the sapping of post rewards every day for running a script. It may be interpreted as hostile to someone who's making money on it I guess. His reaction to it was overboard.
Flagged 2% for repeating the same hostile trolling (specifically using the word "sapping" which has a decidedly negative and hostile connotation)
FYI, he started doing them again after receiving over 100 positive comments from members of the community who support them.
EDIT: Two pending payouts over $100 still does not constitute "hundreds of dollars ... daily" when most of the daily payouts over the past week have been <$20 (and none have been "hundreds"). Again, this is hostile trolling. Please take a step back and consider the tone and accuracy of what you are posting and whether it contributes to making the platform a better and more inviting environment
I'll take a step back because you are right, I am not making the platform better with any further comment. Calling it sapping was an overstep, and completely subjective to my own point of view.
The crowdsourced thought police mercenaries are tilting at windmills to justify their salary.
Stop the witch hunt!
That's a strange reaction. I don't see how a scripted daily post needs to collect so much rewards from the Steem pool, taking away from posts someone put effort into.
I invite you to read this long reply and the other replies on that post.
And no, these posts are not "scripted" and cannot be put on a "website", and they probably require much more efforts than you think. I invite you and everyone sharing your thoughts to try and make them.
Unfortunately, upon council of incompetent police agents, these posts are being made the scapegoat of the failure of micromanaging everything on Steemit. In complete disregard of their popularity.
J’accuse ...
@pfunk, I dont know that he was necessarily referring to you specifically, and I think he wasn't. Mostly it was @ned who started the witch hunt over these posts, including making claims about them to me in private (since I was upvoting them) which turned out to be completely inaccurate. I think he's continuing the dispute by flagging despite his assumptions and stated reasons being incorrect mostly over a refusal to admit he was wrong.
On the matter of the utility of posting here rather than a web site I answered that specifically in the other discussion. Posting here means rewards (you think that is bad, but others disagree; votes can and will sort that out), presence in feeds (for people who choose to follow him), comment discussion, and keeping people on the platform to get the content they want rather than suggesting they go elsewhere (which frankly I find extremely odd and counterproductive in trying to grow the community).
Thank you @smooth for supporting these posts and standing with the grassroots of this community against the bullying and harassment.
One thing I learned throughout my unfortunate encounters with the numerous police agents, is that there is no point in trying to explain your point of view to each and every one of them (because they think you have to account to each one of them personally and explain why you posted or voted this or that when they throw false accusations at you). And in the end it’s like talking to a brick wall, they won’t even bother considering or understanding your opinion. I don’t know who gave them all this power, and what the hiring criteria are. Also most of them use disrespectful language, and do not hold any substantial stake in this platform.
I’m getting really tired of all this harassment, and having to face the systematic and exclusive flag of my payouts posts like they are the root of all evil on Steemit (I sometimes feel like posting illegal content).
In addition to working on my daily post, which takes around an hour, I now have to spend hours replying to baseless accusations.
Thanks again!
I would appreciate it if you would stop with the ad hominems for questioning the utility of posting these here rather than a website.
Are you writing these all out manually? Scripting is synonymous with automation. Furthermore, if they can be hosted by Steemit they can be hosted anywhere else on the web.
Somewhat aside from this, you might think I was one of the people who were on your case for your photo posts. I wasn't, I mostly stayed out of that.
