upvote bots-wise or dumb?

Did you know you could pay to get upvotes on your posts?
Most STEEMIANS must have heard about upvote bots in one way or another but the concept still remains foreign to a good number of MINNOWS. Shout out to my fellow minnows out there!!
Upvote bots are basically "robots" that upvote certain posts every two and half hours. Not enough, right?
Let me be super explicit now!
On steemit, we have people, we also have robots, cool right? Now I'm going to dwell on upvote robots/bots.
These are accounts with a certain voting power, well not all have high vp though. The popular ones include @randowhale @appreciator @jerrybanfield
You transfer a certain amount of SBD or steem per post to them and they upvote your post. This voting is done 2 hours and 40 minutes after the time of the last voting spree
Within that 2 hour time frame, a number of people make transfers called bids. When this time elapses. the bot automatically upvotes each bidder's post based on the amount he bid.
For instance,
@appreciator has a minimum bid of let's assume 2.0SBD and a voting power worth 100SBD
N/B: These values are not real
Mr A transfers 2 SBD to him alongside 3 other people
then Mr X transfers 5SBD to him making it a total of 5 bidders at the end of the 2 hour-window. The total bid value is 2+2+2+2+5=13SBD
At 100% voting power as said previously it's 100SBD upvote but dividing this 100% amongst these 5 bidders
mr X would get 5/13 x 100%= 38.46% of @appreciator's upvote which would be 38.46SBD while
Mr A and the other three would get 2/13 x 100% = 15.38% which would be 15.38SBD
Notice Mr X is getting the largest chunk because of he bid the highest sbd amongst the five!
The next series would be about:
How to avoid losses when bidding
The best hours to bid to attain maximum profit
How to monitor or track steem bots
