Following the shocking contents of the audio clip which took the entire student populace of LAUTECH by suprise a few days ago, it has become abundantly clear that the intentions of the LAUTECH Students' Union Electoral Chairman aren't as noble as he'd like us to believe. And now, in an even more shocking turn of events, he has revealed himself to be as biased as that audio clip suggested. Omo poly has declared that come June 13th, 2018 200Level students will not be allowed to vote!

When asked why he would be denying them their right to vote he stated that it was not constitutional. It is key to note that it is his jaundiced approach towards the forthcoming election that compels this attitude from Omo poly. He claims to be back-dating the student calendar which directly means that 200Level students who are financial members, physically present and possess a means of identification that isn't expired won't be eligible to vote while graduates who are busy serving are officially allowed to be part of the electioneering process!

This level of bias and hypocrisy would have been much easier to accept had it not been that Omo poly, the EC has a 200L student currently serving as an Electoral member under him! On what grounds do you justify denying an entire level the right to vote yet allowing a member of that same level be part of coordinating that same election? Aren't all 200Level students equal? And why would they have been allowed to contest and vote at the department and faculty level only to be denied the right to simply vote at the LSU level?

It is crystal clear like the handwriting on the wall that something is very wrong here. It is unfair and unjust for the constitutional rights of an entire level to be sacrificed at the altar of one man's ulterior motives. All students are equal and therefore share equal rights and benefits. Like the 300Level, 400Level and 500Level students, the 200Level students deserve to have a say in the affairs of the LAUTECH Students Union.
