Hanging On!
Local inventor and eccentric, Harriet Broadloom, has designed a device she is calling: The Hanging Glidewing. According to her, it will revolutionize the transport of goods down hills and descending from mountains.
"... I mean we all know how often miners need to send ore down the mountainside to get to the smeltery. Like all the time right? So I figured, let's find an easier way. And what's easier than falling am I right? One thing I can tell you is not easier than falling, is stopping. Well, not like stopping, heh, that parts easy, but you know..."
Due to time constraints we could not finish the interview, we have included the important parts of Miss Broadloom's comments above.
This "easier way" as Broadloom puts it is to weave together canvas and birch branches to create an artificial wing for users to wear on their backs. After being harnessed in, the user then jumps off the high ledge they also require and simply glides into the valley below.
When pointed out that there aren't always valleys nor do people relish the idea of leaping from ledges, Broadloom merely shrugged and exited the interview.
Mercenaries Arrive In Droves At Mox City Docks
News from Mox City today tells of massive ships sailing into the port over the last few weeks. Ships full of hale and hearty mercenaries looking for work in and around the arenas. The sheer volume of these warriors has overwhelmed the registration clerks appointed by the Wizards and has resulted in some changes being made. Many of these warriors were drawn to the opening of the land sales by the three expedition companies.
Guilds previously were little more than like-minded individuals working together and supporting each other in their arena goals. Now the Wizards have given them an extra duty, to employ these mercenary warriors. Each guild will be able to hire on, with a small subsidy from the Wizards, a number of mercenaries equivalent to their guild prestige.
Along with this new mandate comes special opportunities for all guilds. And while the details are not entirely known, the Wizards assure our readers that this will lead to more excitement and engagement in the future.
As always, time will tell but this reporter sees a bright future for Mox City. Or is that just sunlight glinting on steel. Either way, things are about to get interesting.
Fresh Fight Format
Arena veteran @stealthtrader ran a test of his new "Sit'n'Go" format arena tournaments last night with great success. Enrollment in the tournament was slightly shy of the 16 people the pioneer was aiming for but the crowd was entertained and great prizes were given out.
When asked what his future plans are, @stealthtrader stated:
"No problem just check back tomorrow I’m going to try to run them all day."
No problem indeed, is this one of the solutions summoners and spectators alike have been waiting for? Only time will tell.

Hmm, what shenanigans will those mercenaries be getting up to? Only time will tell I suppose, never a dull moment in the Splinterlands!
