Wizards' Messaging Services Briefly Unavailable

As the Praetorian land sale winds down on the far side of the Primordic Sea, messengers have been running all around the Splinterlands delivering packages and packets of data. Frequently these messengers arrive in ships flying Praetorian colours but recently, due to several unfortunate events, the ships have had severe delays.

The specific reasons are not currently known but hopefully this bears no long-term effect. Our reporters asked a wizard with the curious name of @cryptomancer to elaborate and received this message in return:

"It's hard to tell because the messenger ships keep getting lost in the void, we suspect they are running afoul of dangerous dark matter creatures lurking out there in the infinite dark. So they have to chart a safe path, which requires certain incantations and remedies to be prepared. It will take as long as it takes, hopefully not too long though."

Dark Matter creatures? A mysterious void? What else exists beyond our shores we should be worrying about? Only time will tell.

Death Splinter Recruitment Intensifies

Several Dark Eternals recently set up a recruitment tent outside the city's southern gates. Previously some citizens were concerned about the effect this would have on the local youths and were attempting to have the Dark Eternals removed, through force if necessary.

Over the intervening time, more Dark Eternals have been seen in the area. Several new tents have been erected, creating a small village of Dark Eternals outside Beluroc's walls. This has brought more fervent calls from the citizenry. One prominent business owner, Kellia Harding, issued this statement:

"These undead are a menace! They want to trick people into giving up their lives to become those bony things out there. It's just not right."

The Gazette declined an interview with the Dark Eternal in charge of the encampment as our previous reporter has still not returned.

Needless to say, The Council will likely need to become involved before this situation gets any uglier.

Public Announcement

From the desk of the Exchequer:

"To all citizens dumping leftovers into the sewers: please stop. Although we have several free-roaming gelatinous cubes in the sewers to help clean up organic matter, the excess matter causes the cubes to grow in size. This necessitates more frequently cullings, which are quite dangerous.

"Please limit the organic waste as much as possible. Local kiosks have been set up with pamphlets about composting and places you can take your food wastes for proper disposal. Thank you and have a nice day."
