Card values are dropping all over Splinterlands - HODL

in #spt3 years ago

Well a few days back I managed to put in some money into my account, after which I decided to go shopping on Peakmonsters.

My entire plan was to try to buy cards for low and sell them for higher to make a profit.

Wanted to share some of my unsuccessful buys:

These cards are still stuck in my storage and they are unrealized losses at this point.

Since the value of DEC is falling, and with the release of Chaos Legion, it is impacting the prices all around the market and you can observe card prices dropping everywhere. You should have seen posts of people sharing how their overall value of their owned card dropping.

This phenomenon can be rather disheartening. At times it can cause uncertainty whether you should cash out. I haven't played this game for the longest time (less than 2 weeks now). I don't know when the prices will get better, but I know one thing's for sure and that is I had fun playing this game and I believe in the potential of this game. Therefore, I am going to hold on to these unsuccessful buys and hopefully cash them out eventually. Until then, they will serve as CP fodder as I continue to grind in Bronze II.

TDLR: Keep calm and believe in Splinterlands, diamond hands your cards annd hold

I totally agree on holding them. If you want to know when it will get better....realistically it won't be until after the general sale is stopping. The card values from 2 weeks ago were when it was impossible to get new cards...now that there is an alternative to get cards that doesn't require going to the limited market, the prices are down. Once that alternative runs dry the prices will go back up. I expect it to drop another ~20% and then start climbing after the packs sell out in early March (purely opinion based speculation, not financial advice)
