Why aren’t blockchain games FUN ??

Hey Splinterlands players

I always watch Bulldog1205 on YouTube. If you haven’t heard of him I strongly recommend his videos. His videos are mainly about Splinterlands but sometimes on other related blockchain topics. They are usually quite short, around 15 min long and well worth your time (Link to his channel at the bottom).

Bulldog1205’s last video was about a new NFT blockchain game and he said it was fun to play !! I found myself getting really excited, a fun to play blockchain game that would be great. Then I thought, hang on, shouldn’t games be fun to play and not only about the potential rewards. Blockchain gaming isn’t my main income or job. Surely if it was, I would be in big trouble. Then I realised that the majority of NFT blockchain games that I try are not fun, regardless of how much I want them to be. I love the play2earn concept with crypto and supporting this community is very important to me. However gameplay isn’t it’s strong suit at the moment.

I realise of course that most of these games are made on small budgets and doesn’t have the finances to launch big. However it should be possible to make fun gameplay.

Unfortunately I don’t have an ultimate solution or even a real answer why it is like this. It was just a thought I wanted to put out there. Let me know if you guys agree with me or not.

I would really love a game I would play even if it wasn’t play2earn. OH hang on, we have one:

!! Splinterlands !!

There will always be people trying to take advantage in the play2earn world, so be careful what NFT blockchain games you invest in. Most of them don’t last long or they simply don’t go anywhere. Sometimes they are complete scam and all your investment could be lost. CAUTION
