SPS DAO Project Manager Month 13 Invoicing and Recap

Greetings fellow SPSians. This month I have mainly been focused on maintenance work for the DAO, which may be apparent from the lack of proposals. That said I have still been running polls and gathering feedback on which proposals the DAO does want to see and some of those will likely become proposals in December. For now let's recap what's going on:

This month there were a couple of DAOn Halls. One to get an update from JPTR on the status of validator node development and then one I had to put together quite quickly due to the Soul Keep situation escalating to a breaking point. We should go over both topics in more detail below.

Validators are coming along nicely. I've been communicating with PJ to make sure we're on target and have put together a small group of community members to help with closed testing. We are currently looking for a few more community devs to get involved, if you think you have the skillset to run nodes and a desire to help test the network, let me know.

The Soul Keep situation pretty much came to a head this month. After many discussions with DC and an emergency DAOn Hall, it seems that the DAO is willing to give their team one more chance before turning off the SPS rewards. I've had requests to work more closely with them or to put together some sort of committee to work with them. I personally don't have time to play Soul Keep, so the committee may be the better option, but we'll see which they prefer and go from there.

I've been working pretty closely with royaleagle to get the CMC information updated as well as pursue potential payment processors for the SPS token. We're waiting to hear back from CMC and if the payment processor work pans out I'll share more details with you guys in the future.

One pretty critical thing I think we're going to have to figure out here shortly is what we want to do with the SPS contract on BSC. I spent some time doing a deep dive into the contract to research the red flag issues as well as spoke to PJ to get a developer assessment of the situation. The existing contract is not upgradeable so our options are a bit limited.

We can choose to sunset the old contract and launch a new contract, but that will have potential issues. We're likely to be delisted from any CEX still supporting us if we go that route. I'll do my best to avoid it, but CDC and mexc have both already warned us over low volume. The odds of them migrating tokens is probably not great.

The other options are to look into using a secondary contract to try to place limitations on the first one, but the feedback I've gotten was that it won't really work for our contract. Of course we can always do nothing and just accept the contract has "centralization risk" warnings on it. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.

As always there's more, but these are the main highlights and what I feel are the most important things to be thinking about. The good news is with the crypto market pumping, the DAO is making up some ground with it's ETH and BNB holdings! The auctions and Hall of Legends have been a huge success as well. I feel like 2025 is our year. Thanks for reading.

Good stuff, its kind of nice to have a break from constant proposals.

I was very happy with how the soulkeep situation was handled. I thought the proposal was a good move, DC then dealt with it quickly and in the interests of as many people as possible.

Keep doing a great job Clayboyn... last big push will be getting the new SPS emission schedule for ranked, tournaments, and validators finalized before the whitepaper print run ends.
