The news were that the Los Blancos outfit were considering bringing back the Portuguese to the dugout. He was their coach for three seasons, a period that saw him win the LA Liga, ripping it from the nose of a highly motivated Barcelona side and notching 100 points in the process.

However, Mourinho's stint with the club wasn't without controversy. He had major fall-outs with big names in the club with Casillas and Ramos worthy mentions.

When the news of Mourinho's impending appointments came to the knowledge of the dressing room, many of the senior players cried foul. They didn't want a repeat of the wrong vibes that circulated the club during the Portuguese's reign. Even more, the board was divided over the reappointment of the tactician favoring a reunion with Zinedine Zidane.

When quizzed about Zidane's reappointment, Mourinho said it was a good choice. Asked if he was pleased, he replied that he never said he wanted the job.
