The Indonesian U-23 national team failed to advance far in the 2018 Asian Games. However, the Garuda squad remains flattered by its supporters.
Indonesia's steps stalled in the round of 16 after losing on penalties 3-4 with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Friday (08/24/2018) night WIB. Previously, the two teams were balanced 2-2 for 120 minutes.
This result was quite painful for Luis Milla's team, which was awarded two penalties in normal time. In fact, Milla called the referee the culprit of his team's failure.
Despite losing, some supporters at the stadium appreciated the Indonesian struggle that had played well. One of them was the appreciation of the son of singer Reza Artamevia and the late Adjie Massaid, Aaliyah Massaid.
"The disappointment was because Indonesia lost because of the many penalties, the UAE mostly bought time. There was nothing suddenly in pain. However, whatever the outcome they remain in our hearts," said Aaliyah Massaid at Wibawa Mukti Stadium.
Aaliyah comes not alone. He attended directly at the stadium with his close colleagues from those from Jakarta.
"Honestly, disappointed with this result. If there are no two penalties it looks like we can win, but still salute the struggle," said Aaliyah's friend Kanasya Rahmadia.
