The defeat of Atletico Madrid raises questions for Real Madrid, whether to buy more players. Marcelo feels the current squad is good.
Madrid lost 2-4 to Atletico in the European Super Cup on Thursday (08/16/2018) morning WIB. After being balanced in normal time, Los Blancos conceded two goals in the extra round.
As a result of this defeat, Madrid's transfer policy became one of the things that was again highlighted. Madrid is feared to have trouble closing Cristiano Ronaldo's departure this summer.
After bringing in a line of young players such as Vinicius Junior, Alvaro Odriozola, Andriy Lunin, plus Thibaut Courtois, Madrid were asked about the chance to bring in top players in the remaining time of the transfer market. Marcelo believes the current squad is still very high quality and competitive.
"I am not responsible for transfers, but we have a good squad," he was quoted as saying by Marca.
"Even so, if anyone arrives, they will get a warm welcome," he added.
Madrid was linked with Eden Hazard this summer. But the transfer will now be difficult to realize given the Premier League has closed the players' buying and selling market.
Did someone say the squad is bad?
