The England defender has earned enough points to deserve Manchester United trying hard to get him to commit himself future to the club. He's been the most in form defender for a side whose defensive woes has been open for all to see.
Luke Shaw has played well even when the rest of his teammates had flopped and the player has slowly recovered the confidence that he he once exuded.
Indeed, about two seasons ago, Mourinho had criticised the player saying he had poor understanding of the game and wasn't fit to play for United. He had even tried to sell him but Manchester had intervened.
Now, the player has grown on to become one of United's most trusted defender and even Mourinho has said the player has improved.
It's believed that the deal to extend his contract is almost complete. This though cannot be said of Antonio Valencia and Young who would have to improve and impress the club chiefs if he they are to have their contracts extended.
