The Indonesian men's basketball team was defeated by South Korea. Gideon Roring's Fictor Coach judged his team to have a hard time fighting South Korean giants.

Indonesia began its journey at the 2018 Asian Games basketball sport against South Korea in the Basketball Hall, Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Tuesday (8/14). South Korea is a team of gold medalists at the 2014 Asian Games.

The Roring Fictor team actually had a chance to give resistance in the first and second quarters, but instead dropped in the third and fourth quarters. Indonesia finally had to lose 65-104 in its first match in Group A.

"We have tried to guard the South Korean players. Then they got the wind, so when they got the ball, they immediately shot in," said Fictor to the reporter in the mixed zone.

"I have anticipated their game from the start. But that's Korea, we have fought off their players. Yes, today they are better," he continued.

"Indeed, confronting giants as high as that is not an easy thing. So when from the beginning the national team was formed, I asked to find a tall and tall player in order to compensate for the height of the opponent. But with the local players there are very difficult to compensate."

Indonesia actually had a chance to meet South Korea on Saturday (07/14/2018), in the 2018 William Jones Cup event held in Taiwan. In the meeting, Indonesia lost 86-92 through overtime after a balanced 79-79 after the fourth quarter.

"Some time ago we were against South Korea and only lost through overtime. But now South Korea is better," added Fictor.
