Prisoners also need to have fun. The prison is another home away from home where you meet different types of people from all walks of life. The frustration of being in prison gives many prisoners no hope. There are many innocent prisoners.
Some are held by wrong information. All these people need hope to survive a hard time. To allow prisoners to have fun, a pilot scheme was rolled out in Kenya prison to encourage inmates to take up Rugby. Many of them got engaged in the game and they were glad to see such arrangements.
Some of them said the game has given them fresh hope and also taught them discipline. It brings the prisoners together even more and builds love among the inmates.
This program is an initiative of a non-profit organization Espartanos Africa which helps BBCsport Africa, accessed the maximum-security prison (Kamiti) outside Nairobi.
If this can be done in all prisons, the inmates will have something that will give them more life as they suffer for the offense they commit.
Rugby is an interesting game., and I believe it will improve the personal lifestyle as they collectively participate in the game.
