The Visual Assistance Referee was introduced to the premier league since the beginning of the season. It has been helping in making decisions in many controversial issues. I believe most of the decisions are right while some got me thinking. I remember the first Man City game of the season, during Sergio Aguero's Penalty kick, VAR claimed that the keeper moved from the line before Aguero kicked the ball. I was kind of sceptical about the decision, but I felt, it is the game of football anyway.
During the Tottenham vs Watford game yesterday, VAR caused a massive confusion over Dele Alli's goal decision. The goal was a bit controversial and VAR board showed NO GOAL but the goal was awarded by the Referee. I think this is clearly an unprofessional error. I would ask who is in charge of the things that are to be displayed on the board. Anyway, the Hack-Eye company(VAR firm) apologies for the confusion and they promised to dig deep to find out the cause and also make sure that such will not repeat itself.
I already see that most people are also having a double mind about VAR technology. I doubt it if the VAR will be around for long if something like this keeps happening. I hope they watch over there gadgets and fix the buggy ones before there spoil their reputation. In conclusion on my rant, I will use the slang my people use to say. Lass lass VAR na scam
