As the new Premier League season edges closer, I've taken to looking up current odds for all kinds of different markets. The classic Premier League winner and Top 4 odds are pretty interesting but it's difficult to get a grasp on things with the transfer window still open. A few additions or sales can make or break a club's season.
Nevertheless, there are some interesting markets that potentially offer good value. Today, I spent time looking at the current odds for the Premier League 2019/20 top goalscorer. Although there are the usual names thrown into the mix, there are also a few prices that interest me at this stage.
Harry Kane
Kane is always going to be near the top of the list when it comes to goals. He's Tottenham's biggest goal threat by some distance and has proved himself time and time again. If he can stay fit then he has a great chance of winning the Golden Boot.
Current odds: 5.40
If you're a Tottenham fan then you might be tempted by these odds, but this one isn't for me as I think others will have a better season this time around.
Mohamed Salah
Salah has won the Golden Boot two seasons in a row, albeit shared last season, so is always a decent bet in this regard. He'll face tough competition from an in-form Sadio Mane at Liverpool this season.
Current odds: 7.00
At these odds, I'd be tempted with a small stake. When you consider the fact that many people thought Salah was playing below par last season, he still managed to work his way to the top of the goalscoring charts.
Sadio Mane
Mane has really stepped things up over the last year and has become a very important part of Liverpool's success. There is every chance that he could be the club's top goalscorer next season if he carries on performing at these levels.
Current odds: 11.5
At this price, I feel a bet on Mane is very good value. He's coming into his peak years now and is playing with a lot of confidence. Last season, he showed that he can score all kinds of goals so there will be plenty of opportunities for him to put his stamp on the goalscoring charts.
Raheem Sterling
Sterling has been performing at a very high level for the last couple of seasons and is my wildcard for top goalscorer in the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Current odds: 16.0
Having scored 17 and 18 goals in the last two Premier League seasons, Sterling could push on again and become a truly elite player. That hurts me to say as a Liverpool supporter, but I have a feeling that other European clubs will be looking to signing him in the next summer transfer window. I'll be taking a small wager on him at these odds.
Sadio Mane has been playing for Senegal in the AFCON 2019 and hasn't been at the top of his performance. He has actually missed several penalties during this tournament. Still he is a good bet. I would also add Iwobi to the list. He is pretty slippery with the ball.
30 goals for Pogba this season! OK maybe not. One of the Arsenal forwards could go close?
Aguero from the list above if he stays fit.
Aubameyang could be a decent option at odds of 8.6. Does he take penalties? I can't remember.
I think odds for Salah and Sterling are not really bad. I would have better staked some on both Lol By the way I wish betscorum had this kind of thing. My payment for betfairs couldn't actually go through. Good luck mate
Yes sir, we all wish that! It's a shame the devs were incompetent.
Im a spurs supporter and would back Kane he takes the penalties and plays every game and IF he manages a full season will breeze it but hasn't managed a full season for the past 2. Having said that was within touching distance after missing around a month last season
"His one of our own"
COYS
With VAR coming in you've made a good point on penalties there as there will be quite a few I think.
VAR is going to make the first few months ridiculous im backing 5+ penalties in the opening weekend games looking for decent odds now as British refs do what they are told and implement everything by the book. Always happens when a new rule comes in then month later they losen up
From your list I think Mane will do well again. KDB of Manchester City will be up there too if he doesn't spend too long injured this season.
I am new to the sports site and think the content in the Trending pages is a good standard.
De Bruyne could be a good shout if he takes penalties and stays fit.
What odds on Aguero?
You can back Aguero for 6.40 at the moment which is a nice price if he gets the game time required
great
hey...i remember you on scorum...how are you?
